Sticks and Stones  Click here Click title to view sermon 1 Thessalonians 1: 1–5
Summary:  Sticks and stones break bones, but words don’t hurt. We know that’s not true. But in the world today, our words of faith have no meaning without the tangible sticks and stones to back them up. It is our “work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope” that are the real sticks and stones of life. The greatness of our actions gives power to our words.

Hope with a Straight Face  Click here Click title to view sermon 1 Thessalonians 4: 13–18
Summary:  Paul exhorts Christians to encourage one another with the hope that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. This is a hope for all eternity because through the death and resurrection of Jesus, the future of believers is secure. When Jesus returns, believers will be reunited with those who have died in the faith.

Are You Sleeping?  Click here Click title to view sermon 1 Thessalonians 5: 1–11
Summary:  Whether we are sleeping or awake, Christ will return like a thief in the night. No one knows when that will be, so we have to be prepared at all times. Paul's message to the Thessalonians is to stay sober, rest well at night and don't sleep in the light. Like the first-century church, we need to stay awake so that we don't miss seeing the Lord's work that surrounds us.
